Use of Cookies

A cookie is a small amount of data that is sent to your browser from a web server and stored on your computer's hard drive. We use cookies to deliver content specific to your interests and to save your password so you don't have to re-enter it each time you visit our site. However, cookies cannot be used to identify individuals, only machines. We may also use an outside ad company to display ads on our site. These ads may contain cookies. While we use cookies in other parts of our website, cookies received through banner ads are collected by our advertising company, and we do not have access to this information. Some customer data is shared with the advertising companies and for political purpose but only in aggregate form.

Traffic data

ElectionMall.com may track and aggregate information about a visitor's activity into our analysis of general traffic flows at our sites (e.g. tracking where traffic comes from, how traffic flows within the ElectionMall.com sites, etc.). We share data only on an aggregated basis with our third parties; we will not disclose your individual identity or personally identifiable data without your permission. When we do present aggregated information to outside companies, no one will be able to identify you or contact you.

Personally Identifiable Information

At your request, we may use your personally identifiable information to provide you with personalized information, such as newsletters for instance. In those instances where we do collect personally identifiable information, you have the option of choosing to reveal it to us.

Optional Registration

Our site's registration form requires users to give us contact information (like their name and email address) and demographic information (like their zip code, age, or income level). We use customer contact information from the registration form to send the user information about our company. Users may opt-out of receiving future mailings. Demographic and profile data is also collected at our site. We will never provide our third parties with individually identifiable information about our members unless the member has given us explicit permission to do so

Optional Personalization

ElectionMall.com offers news and information personalized for you, including where you live and what political issues and people you care about. Users who want to personalize their news and information must provide us with a user ID, zip code, password and a working e-mail address. The e-mail address you register with ElectionMall.com will be seen by others if you post comments in the public forums of ElectionMall.com. Users also have the option of providing us more detailed information including gender, age, political affiliation, and issues they care about. We use this information to set up your account and personalize news and information. ElectionMall.com may also provide summary or aggregate--no individual--reports to our third parties who can use this information to determine the effectiveness of their media investments. We will never provide our third parties with individually identifiable information about a member unless the member has given us explicit permission.

Optional Newsletters and "send to a friend" feature

Users have the option of receiving a newsletter delivered on a regular basis, as well as infrequent other announcements from ElectionMall.com. We collect subscribers' e-mail addresses in order to distribute those newsletters and announcements and do not otherwise share them with other companies or partners. Users can choose to unsubscribe from ElectionMall.com newsletters at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions found in each e-mail or visiting the newsletter sign-up page.

ElectionMall.com also offers an "e-mail a friend about this story" feature, allowing site visitors to send e-mail to friends to inform them about an article they might be interested in reading. In order for this feature to function, we ask for e-mail addresses from the sender and for the recipient. We do not store or save these addresses and you will not receive e-mailings or other communications from ElectionMall.com or its partners as a result of having used this feature.

Optional Response to Promotion

From time to time, ElectionMall.com may sponsor sweepstakes, contests or other events which require the collection, processing and storage of individual contact and demographic information (e.g., your age and state of residence) to be used for the event. We use contact data from our contests to send users information about our company. ElectionMall.com may also co-sponsor these events along with other companies, in which case the user's individual contact and demographic information is likely to be shared with other participating sponsors on an aggregate basis. A registrant's personal contact and demographic information will not be released to third party or non-participating organizations without the user's consent, and ElectionMall.com will require that co-sponsors of such events uphold the privacy of the registrants' information.

Optional Surveys and Polls

Users may participate in surveys or polls. Users will have the option of disclosing their demographic or other personal information. Such survey or poll information may be compiled and shared in the aggregate with third parties and other third parties, but no personal details will be traceable or associated with specific individuals.
